Middle Tennessee Group of the Sierra Club Enjoying the outdoors

Want to become active in environmental work as a volunteer, but just haven't found your "niche" yet?

Looking for a volunteer project? We may have just the opportunity for you!

MTG works with Kroger to provide oversight, occasional cleanup and assistance to those new to recycling at the Elysian Fields recycling site. The recycling site earns the MTG needed income, and we are always on the lookout for volunteers to greet patrons and help them sort their recyclable goods.

Our Recycle Site Coordinator will supply you with all the information & education you need on what can be recycled and how to help out when large (or small) loads appear.

Visitors to the site are a grateful bunch of folks, and may also be good candidates to join our group and work with us in some other way. Being a "greeter/sorter" at our recycling site is a very important and productive contribution to our Group!

Please contact your county's municipal waste site for other options on disposing of non-recyclable items. Please contact Tom Cullen if you are interested in helping!

The recycling site at the Elysian Fields Kroger accepts numerous items for recycling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please follow the guidelines below.
