Expanding Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness Carol Evans, Executive Director, Legacy Parks Foundation

Legacy Parks Foundation has far reaching plans for expanding Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness and seizing opportunities throughout the region to take full advantage of our natural resources.

Legacy Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization which works to assure that Knoxville, Knox County and the greater Knoxville region enjoys exceptional recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that those assets exist for generations to come.

Since July 2007, the Foundation has raised three million dollars in private dollars for parks, trails and open space. During that same period of time, nearly 300 acres of parkland in Knox County were acquired through the Foundation and more than 900 acres of open space has been preserved in East Tennessee.
